- We celebrate Heroes day on every third Monday in October.
- We dance and tell tales of what we heard about or heroes.
- Most of them lost their lives fighting for us because of what they believed in.
- Jamaica has six (6) heroes and one (1) heroine, they all fought for the same goals. They fought for the poor, equal rights, justice and peace. They are:
- Nanny of the Maroons
- Sir Alexander Bustamante
- Norman Washington Manley
- Paul Bogle
- George William Gorden
- Marcus Mosiah Garvey
- Samuel Sharp The national heroes park became the home of the heroes, where people can visit and show respect.
